What is Global ARTery?

The aesthetic properties of art are, in and of themselves, a form of language. Art speaks in a way that is non-verbal, emanating from our heARTs and connecting us first to ourselves, and then to others. Global ARTery intends on uniting people from around the globe using this language of the heART through the use of art-based projects or “ARTeries”  as we like to call them. It is through these projects that Global ARTery hopes to spread the the power of creativity to heal and initiate a larger, global dialogue that generates greater awareness internally and externally.

Who is Global ARTery?

Having experienced first hand the trans-formative and expressive power of art working with orphans, the homeless population, severely, emotionally disturbed adolescents and other individuals, Lindsay Hurtt, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR), started Global ARTery to make a difference through the use of creativity while expanding this approach on a global scale. Contemplating the simple idea of the heART, she realized that it was all encompassing. The word, the symbol, the idea and the concept all spoke to the connection and flow that we have to ourselves and to one another. She began to notice its relevance and prevalence all around her.

Although Global ARTery is an organization, it is also the collection of orphans, aid workers, mental health professionals, teachers, artists and friends who have opened their heART to the idea of creativity and it’s ability to illuminate self awareness and connectedness. Often times the “who” of an organization are the people who work for the company but Global ARTery sees it’s collective as being anyone and everyone who is willing to look within to discover the personal message of their heARTs.

Creative Visions Foundation Creative Activists Partner

Recently Global ARTery partnered with Creative Visions Foundation, one of the leading social activists organizations in the world.  Creative Visions Foundation supports “creative activists” - individuals who use the power of media and the arts to create positive change in the world. This partnership forms a powerful connection that is truly in the spirit of Global ARTery’s mission. Creative Visions provides fiscal sponsorship, mentoring and grants to EMPOWER grassroots creative activists with innovative projects and productions that can positively impact our world just like Global ARTery. It is through the sponsorship of Creative Visions Foundation, a publicly supported 501 (c)(3),  that Global ARTery can receive tax deductible donations and increase its value proposition on a global scale.
