Imagine if you will an old radio. The kind with big gold dials and a canvas speaker on top. The kind made of burly wood rounded on the edges to follow a smooth line. The kind that requires a slight touch of hand and help from your ear get that red line in just the perfect place. Now imagine the sound in between. The sound of static, muffled voices and white noise as you jump from station to station. The sound is somewhat uncomfortable as we make every attempt to move that red dial to its intended spot with a nuanced touch. Finally the station reveals itself. The sound is a welcomed reprieve from the static of before. Perhaps it is music. Perhaps it is a voice but our hand drops, our heart settles and we sit back to listen. COMPLETELY TUNED IN!
That is the process of creativity. The ability to take our selves from one situation to the next navigating the space in between that seems to create chaos in our minds, hearts and environment. Yet creativity giving these experiences shape, color and form to be witnessed not only by our selves but by others as well. The Global ARTery Orphan heART Project is committed to tapping into these rich experiences harnessing their power through creativity.
Through the use of art based directives…art projects with a purpose…Global ARTery participants experience first hand how creativity can build self-esteem as they paint, sculpt and draw their way through perceptions of self, the space around them, feelings and emotions, relationships to past, present and future, reflections on inner “wounds” and discovery of personal self symbols. All of this takes place either in the group context or in the presence of a Global ARTery ARTisan to provide connection, attunement and validation.
Global ARTery takes this one step further by offering individuals skill building to expose them to the world of small business encouraging the promotion of their creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving We believe the lessons of entrepreneurship will inspire individuals to take initiative and implement their innovative ideas within their sphere of influence, to dream beyond their current environments, and to gain full confidence in their own abilities and creativity.
